The Man of the People

Sean AVery decided to take in the thid period of the game against the Bolts standing in the Blue Seats – the 400 section.

Avery, recovering from a seperated shoulder, came in to elevator on the fifth floor and hit nine saying he wanted to be with the people. He was seen signing autographs to every fan that came up and asked.

At least they got a point

Maybe that’s all tou can ask for if the team was playing at 100 percent. But they are not amd there’s no chemistry between the top forwardd.

Maybe they are trying to be too fancy. You never know, but something has to happen soon.

On a sadder note Marty Straka will be out for a while with a fractured finger. Hit on a shot, it’s another loss early in the season.

The Rangers Need Life

Is it me or do the Rangers need some shot of life? Or maybe theywere. Just too concerned about Joe Torre’s situation to be concerned with the game at hand.

But 4 shots? Surely the Blueshirts could muster a better effort.

And thanks to Henrik Lundqvist it remained scoreless. Only his brilliance kept the Bruins off the board as he was the reason the Rangers killed off a double minor to Jaromir Jagr.

Maybe the rest of the team can feed off its netminder fopr the rest of the game.

Live From Boston

Here in Beantown with the GF. They moved the game to 4 p.m. not to compete with the ALCS.

The Rangers are looking to get off the snide after their 2-4 start and if they can get a win here it will help with games against Pittsburgh, Jersey and Toronto next week.

But it won’t be easy as the Bs are off to a good start and the Rangers are still looking for their first road win.

Thanks to our friends at Hallmark Tickets I am six rows off the ice for the game, so I will be both up close and birdseye for the game.

Ouch

Three Ottawa goals in 52 second is the difference in this game.

The Rangers started to get sloppy there in the second giving the Sens a chance on the power play.

Unless they can mount an offensive in the third this game is pretty much over.

What A Difference A Day Makes

After a great first period yesterday, today, the Rangers came out a little flat and needed to get going. Fortunately, Henrik Lundqvist was up to the task as he stopped all 15 Ottawa shots.

Jaromir Jagr hurt his knee, but didn’t miss any time and was back on the ice the next shift.

Maybe more life in the second…

Thirty Seven Shots

And three goals on….

The Rangers have dominated this game, even though a Petr Prucha goal was waived off, they still looked good, keeping the puck in Washington’s end.

No penatlties either in the second for the Blueshirts, so that’s good too.

Only Olie the Goalie is keeping this from being a blowout.

More later…

What a Period

The Rangers may have played their best period all season going three for five on the power play and peppering Olaf Kolzig with 20 shots.

The Blueshirts seemed very cohesive as a unit on the man advantage, which is something that dogged them on the Island on Wednesday. After that game, both Brendan Shanahan and Tom Renney spoke about special team situations and how they will be worked on. It seemed like it worked.

Joromir Jagr looked strong with three assists and Scott Gomez scored his first goal as Ranger.

The Washington Nylanders Come into Town

The Rangers come home tonight with the Capitals visiting. Looking for a win, Tom Renney is dressing Paul Mara in favor of Jason Strudwick. Otherwise it’s the same lineup as Wednesday.

It also marks the return of Michael Nylander, who will be coming in as a member of the Caps after signing a deal with Washington during the summer.

The 3-0 Caps have been playing well, but the 1-2 Rangers are hungry for a win.
